Roger began a career in law enforcement for the City of Ashdown in June of 1982 as a Police officer. He went to the State Police in November of 1987 and remained there until June 30 of 2013. Roger is very active in Sevier County. He serves on the Sevier County Fair Board, Sevier County Housing Authority Board, and the Developmental Center Board. Roger ran for the office of Justice of the Peace and began his first term on January 1, 2015.
