Election Board Meeting
April 20, 2022
The Sevier County Election Commission met on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 9:00 A.M., in the Sevier County Courthouse conference room. The meeting was called to order by Fred Wetzel. Present at the meeting were Commissioners Fred Wetzel, Jim Hodge, and County Clerk Debbie Akin.
Jim Hodge made a motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Fred Wetzel seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The commissioners unanimously approved a list of Election Workers for the May 24 Election.
The date for the Public Test of Equipment and Logic and Accuracy Testing was moved to April 28 – 29, due to the non-arrival of media for the test. If the media has not arrived by Wednesday, April 27, Clerk Akin said she would notify the Commissioners and we would have no choice but to re-schedule again. This will be published and is open to the public.
Clerk Akin informed the commissioners that she had received a request for Horatio School Board to have two polls open for the upcoming Special Election on August 9. They are asking for one poll in Sevier County and one poll in Little River County on August 9. The commissioners agreed to accommodate this request.
Clerk Akin handed out some information concerning the November Municipal Election. This information will be made available to the newspaper and radio stations as well as posted on the County Clerk's Facebook Page and the Sevier County Website.
With no other business, Jim Hodge made a motion to adjourn. Fred Wetzel seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned.
